Tomorrow is April 3, 2013 and it’s the 45^th anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King in Memphis at around six in the evening.  We were talking about this at the breakfast table, me and John and Jay.  And Robert Kennedy’s name came up and I mentioned that my Dad used to have the book “To Seek A Newer World’ but I didn’t see it in his book collection when I looked through it in February of 2008 after he died.  I said my sister in law, Marie, must of snatched it up and I’ll have to look through her collection for it.  I mentioned that it was late March 1968 when we went to see Robert Kennedy at the Airport in LA and my Dad took movies.  And I mentioned that my Dad subsequently got the date wrong saying that this was Kennedy’s visit to Los Angeles a couple of days before he died.  And this is incorrect.  It was the same day that he bought “To Seek A Newer World’ and maybe it was right there at a store at the Airport.  And I read the thing from cover to cover.  And I mentioned to Jay that they rushed released this edition into print because it has an update on the Tet Offensive.  Then Jay went on to talk about some experience he had in the psyche ward where he went to Hell and then he went up to Heaven and he met God- - and then he was returned to his normal state.  Then I mentioned that the number One is the number you can’t divide by when you’re talking about logarithms and exponents.  I was happy we’d gotten two big pancakes each taking up the whole plate, because it’s more generous than they usually serve around here- - plus the two sausages.  But I wanted to talk about Angela Davis and the Decades of Protest.  You kind of have to start each decade off at the two level.  For instance Franklin Roosevelt took office in March of 1933 - - and people decided to get more involved in government again and got the constitutional amendment passed repealing prohibition- - and at last we decided we could crack down on Organized Crime.  And this era went right up to Pearl Harbor because prior to that event our economy was still to one degree or another in a state of slumber.  So 1942 – 1952 was kind of a block of time.  Then when Ike came to power we overthrew the governments of Guatamala and Iran, and messed up the free election in Viet Nam, and even as late as early 1961 we were still nurturing hopes of a military invasion of Cuba- to take back that country.  Also the economy was still sputtering in 1962.

Really it was events of 1963 that kind of Woke Up the majority of sleeping Americans.  You had the Cuban Missile crisis and its aftermath and the whole topic of Nuke danger and WW III kind of occupied the general conversational politic throughout the nation, and not just here behind the Orange Curtain in California where we have always been paranoid.  The whole Civil Rights bill was highlighted by George Wallace’s “Segregation now- segregation tomorrow – Segregation Forever” speech delivered at the school house door.  You had the test ban treaty and Kennedy in Berlin saying “Ish bin ein Berliner”.  You had your Bhuddist priests in Viet Nam setting themselves on fire and the whole Diem government that wasn’t long for this world.  I guess we took care of them ourselves.  But this only pushed the whole Viet Nam question into the limelight like never before.  You had Malcolm X and the “Chickens coming home to roost” speech after Kennedy’s assignation, and the Malcolm X himself being gunned down so shortly after.  You had the whole Vatican II thing and the passage of the Civil Rights and Voting Right’s laws, and the repuliation of the Extremist Right with the defeat of Barry Goldwater.  Then you had what you called the Free Speech movement starting in late 1964 on College Campuses.  And then we come to Angela Davis, and I guess one of the lady talk show hosts of KTLK was talking about the upcoming movie “Free Angela’ or something, that will be out in a week or two.  And apparently people have the wrong idea about Angela Davis and that was not just some other communist extremist.  Some say she picked up her communist philosophy while spending time in Germany.  Well, you know what those Germans are like.  They’ll try anything – once.  I was not really a follower of hers.  But when we had that left wing pastor of our church, Stanley George, Tim’s favorite pastor- - and during one sermon he gave a black power fist salute, and some hot head from the audience blurts out “That’s a communist salute!”   And then John Lennon and Yoco Ono had that song “Angela- they put you in prison – but you’re one of a million political prisoners of the land” and another line that goes “They gave you coffee- and they gave you tea - - They gave you everything but the jail house key”.  I don’t know how closely she was related to the Solidad brothers George and Johnathin Jackson - - where one was gunned down and then the other one was.  But like I say where was some kind of a strange silent coup in America after 1972 because you will not an enormous change in the tone and lyrics of popular songs on the radio just between 1971 and 1973, like if you listen to DRIVE radio like I used to do, you hear it laid out plain as day.  I don’t know what it was- - but suddenly someone rang a bell and “we weren’t in the sixties any more’ and I don’t know what happened.  It's interesting to speculate what course another term with Jerald Ford as President might take what with Rumsfeld and Dick Chaney in his cabinet back then.  Obviously a bad precedent was set with the Pardoning of President Nixon, that was only added to when the Clinton administration dropped all charges against Iran-Contra, after most of the individual cases had been already pardoned or something.  And then it was in September of 2007 that I did that posting called "The patient is dead" refering to the corpse of liberal thought in the land.  Oppressed people have a funny way of getting used to a progressively worse and more restrictive "Normal"  (Selah)

You may have all heard that radio commercial where a man’s voice comes on and says ‘My doctor wanted me to have a hysterectomy” and you’re scratching your head.  Well on Bob’s Burger Tina’s mother suggests that her teenage daughter would be slightly less repulsive if she’d shave her legs, and she heard about this place that did waxing jobs.  But she insisted that her father come with her to have his legs shaved at the same time for moral support.  And the Dad remarks to the attendant there “Remember, I don’t want a scrotal wax job- just the legs” and then when the Attendant gets a look at the daughter (and I’m speculating now) he says - - with a bit of hesitancy - - “Actually, I think your daughter is in more in need of a scrotal wax job than you are’.    OK, and don’t everybody cause an internet crash E mailing your protests all at once.

Now we come to last Monday’s conversations with dead people, which is something else I’m doing with a bit of hesitancy.  Stu seemed definitely rattled by something Monday morning and was in one of these “tell all” moods certain authors get in now and then when they rat out famous people they’ve been close to.  Stewart is tired of hearing these roomers that after he was dead that he was still alive and managed to (this is cosmic stuff) get the Beatles away from Vee Jay records (alias the near Reigelians) and hooked up with Capital (the Romulan vehicle)  Of course as you know Stewart was in Torranto and disappeared the last few days of December of 1962 and was not accounted for for a period of nearly nine years.  There are roomers going around that Stu was alive and active and not dead or "in abstentia" as the case may be" and hooked up with the Vancouver Romulans- - to jump start the Beatles’ carrier here in America, and that Stu hated everything the Neir Reigelians stood for and was all pro Vancouver Romulan- - thus causing his Torranto Romulan bretherin to feel slighted by him.  When in reality he was - - - did not exist - - and Stu never claims to have existed during that period.  He is now in fact saying that Capital hijacked the Beatles from Vee Jay records.  But he’s also expressing his views on other stuff.  He went on to mention that “Brian matched the criteria John Lennon was looking for as someone who would earn them lots of money and he presented them well.  But in reality he did next to nothing to help their carriers because were it not for the Neir Reigellians - -the Beatles could have kept on drifting nowhere.  It was George Martin who was responsible for their big break and not all Brian’s posturing.  And “I don’t have anything against Brian being gay.  He can be what he wants.  I know in some circles it’s actually shiek to be gay”.  But Brian was weak and when the Beatles actually needed him in 1967 Brian was too wasted on drugs to be of any help. “ He also said that in fairness he was the Fifth Beatle that should have gotten a vote as to whether to get rid of Pete Best or not- - and that Brian took this power to get rid of Pete unto himself kind of without anyone’s permission.  George and Paul conspired to get rid of Pete while John was all tied up with nuptials with Cynthia”.   But the strange thing Stu was tricked into saying other stuff about me because he’d been given mis or partial information - - but I’m not going to get into the how’s and why’s of that.    Later in the day another dead person came to me who didn’t identify himself at first.  But he said that Stewart had a highly distorted view of the circumstances of how Pete Best was let go, and Stu wasn’t there but he was there and he actually talked to Pete during this period.  He then told me how Stu had been tricked into saying other stuff- - probably by stealth Alcyonne agents on Sirius A.  But from the frequent references he made to George Harrison- - it became apparent that it was Neil Asphenal I was speaking to.  He then made reference to The Yellow Planet (2^nd star of Orion’s belt) as the place where I was destined to go when I died according to Bo.  This was probably the first time anyone from The Other Side had made mentioned of my Own death and I wondered whether it was some kind of Omen, sort of a “dying grace’ or something.  Things have been going so well for me lately maybe some power is giving me positive karmic credits owed to me before I did.  I admit, I’m paranoid that way a little.  As you know the only other time I talked to Neil Asphenol was after he died he paid me the courtesy of informing me “He was with George” when George himself I did not hear from after he died.  Neil had talked with Bo.  (who is an old SC Romulan friend from my past) At the time I asked him if it’s true that Bo - - as a Dylan avatar- - wrote a lot of songs.  Neil said he would check and get the information back to me.  Then we have this morning when Stewart says he got the information that Neil left off for him but “Neil was obviously not interested in having any extended conversation – at least with me”.  Stu went on to say “And you know something- - I’m right about the circumstances of Pete Best’s sacking- and if you doubt my word- - ask Pete.  He’s still around.  He’ll be glad to tell you.”

You Can't Win

We live in this Alice in Wonderland world of paradoxes.  On the one hand you have David Cruise talking about these college four year graduates.  They may have had stellar grades in College but find the real world of the job market a whole different ball of wax.  David says that most archetects for example, do not go on to be archetects.  These grads are burried alive in tuition debt but that's only the tip of the iceburg.  First of all there are the basics we learned at Chris College and ROP about always over-dress a little and make sure your shoes have a spit shine polish.  Make sure your hair is well manicured and that you are positive.  But don't count on sending out a lot of resumes as a way to land a good job.  Because now they have these software filtering system where they search either for words that should NOT be there or essential phrases that BETTER be there or your file goes in the round file without any human being actually reading it.  If you thought you would work a forty hour week,  perhaps you should go into business for yourself.  He suggests if you can't be a regular attorney then start up your own firm working for one tenth the salary rate.  My problem with that is that's what they said about domestically produced energy.  They kept saying "If we just produced more domestic oil and allowed fracking to get natural gas and suspended a few polution regulations then energy costs would plumet.  Well, we have done All of those things and energy costs have only risen.  You can't "produce your own oil, and sell it at a fifty percent discount and undercut the market.  It doesn't work that way.  The AMA has a thing or two to say about how many practicing physicians there are and I imagine the American Bar Association would take a dim view out of your undercutting the competetion from the good old boy established Attorneys.  David Cruise says you may have to work fifteen hours a day six days a week to start your own business.  He says "If your old background of now obsolete then redirect what skills you do have tword something that IS relevent today.  All I could think of was "Gee, I'm sure as hell things weren't as bad as this when I was in my twenties".  As much as I have suffered a downgrade in my style of living over the past twenty years- - I was for a moment feeling guilty about taking tax money from one of these people David Cruise was talking about today- making an effort to succeed.

I was picking up vibes of "someone out there -alive or dead" who feels they got a royal screwing from their Record Company.  I've seen documentary movies about artists who get exploited by record producers.  I happened to think of Mary Wells.  She began putting out single 45's in 1960 but landed her first big hit in early 1962 when she signed with Motown.  She continued to have a string of top twenty hits in the next two years and finally hit Number One with "My Guy" in May of 1964 knocking the Beatles out of the number one position they had hogged for months.  But then something funny happened.  She began to be slighted and she accused the head of MoTown, I guess that would be Barry Gordy, of promoting newer groups such as the Supremes.  Up to the first half of 1964 the Supremes had one minor hit that came and went.  But now that Mary Walls seemed to be passed over- - it's as if Dianna Ross and the Supremes sucked out all of her power and charisma - - and from then on it was the Supremes that had all the number one hits.  Mary Wells continued to hang in there.  She apparently tried to exploit the connection she had with the Beatles.  John Lennon said that she was his favorite American woman artist- - but strangely the Beatles never did a cover track of any Mary Wells song on any album.  In her later years at 1990 approached she got cancer and for a while was in remission.  Her old colligues from MoTown rallied around her and even gave her moral support in some of the legal suits she was waging.  (David Cruise says legal suits are the lazy man's way to go)  But the cancer came back and it did her in and she died in late July of 1992.  I guess I remember that period as the one in which Ross Perot had decided he would end his run as President.  He was another of those people whom the Media had suddenly turned against starting about mid June of 1992 for inexplicable reasons, so far as I can see.  The way I see it "The media did it because they CAN".

You know- - when you look at Congress and how all else may be sacrificed but dare you tamper with so much of one day of our vast scheduled vacation time.  Congress seems to be on vacation this well WELL over half the time.  The trick is to find some time when they are actually in session doing their jobs, and having committee hearings and holding votes and horse trading with their colligues- - the way normal politicians of old do.  They don't even care.  They just want to take our money and retire to their summer homes or travel overseas.  Apparently now the inmates are controling the Assylum both in Texas and in California.  Because- - in both states there were scheduled prosecutions of White Racist terrorist organizations.  I guess the Aryan Brotherhood in Texas has become a major drug running cartel, and of course now their Attorney in Rodney Dangerfield style says "My clients ain't getting no respect for just how powerful they ARE".  (?)  But in Florida there was a massive government investigation in Ociola County there where this massive terrorist conspiracy was uncovered and fourteen people were scheduled to be prosecuted and the trial was to start this week.  But then at the last minute the government dropped virtually all conspiracy charges without reason.  I haven't read up much on this but you can beat me to it and read it for yourselves.  It's so funny that when Romney was running for President- - how President Obama was accused of not doing his job because of course we covered up those four US deaths in Libya and all and didn't you know if college grads were having trouble getting employment- - it was all President Obama's fault.  I chafed at this statement knowing that in any other situation students or anybody not with money would be accused of "Playing the victim" if things didn't go their way.  But Mitt Romney would have President Obama be the repository for any grudge of any kind you've had in the past four years.  Nobody was talking about pollution or global warming.  Nobody was talking about the "path to citizenship" for people now in limbo status.  Nobody was talking about gun poliferation in this country.  Given how poorly the President ran his campaign last fall and how limp wristed his defenses were- - it's a wonder how he won reelection at all.  But I'll tell you it was a hall of a lot closer than liberals would ever admit.

You know -  there are just too many SECRETS AND LIES.  Now we go to fiction where nothing is supposed to be Real, but one has some kind of expectations that what you see dramatized on the TV screen is at least - - Plausable.  You have Nick Fallon- - and frankly I am ready to abandon my "never say die" stance on this guy.  I've been saying stuff like to keep a stiff upper lip and stay the course and stick with the game plan.  But now I'm throwing in the towel.  Here is a guy without a friend in the world and Enemies everywhere he looks.  If I were he I'd look at my own Bride and see someone whose support was wavering and at worst is secretly in love with the biological father of her unborn child, but is too coy to come out and admit it.  You have Kristine di Mira who is being blackmailed now by one of the thugs she hired in a true case of "The chickens coming home to roost".  Then we have Clowie.  Dr. Daniel Jonas comes home and calls for his one time wife almost frantically eager to talk to her, and she strolls in cool calm and collected and says "homey, you seem a little agitated.  Besides I thought you were in San Francisco this week" and he goes "I've been trying to reach you for hours.  Don't you ever answer your phone?" and she goes "Oh darling, I was just having a little Me time at the spa.  There's nothing wrong with that, is there?"  But as upsetting as Clowie's lies were I was more personally rattled by Jennifer's lies.  Because there it hits home.  You have these Christians playing the Morality card.  They will say "I don't date' or "I can't date you" or talk about being a virgin on their wedding night.  Or there is crap about how 'it takes a year to get over a former relationship" and the lies go on and on.  And I've heard this same sort of shit from Christians for over forty years and I've gotten more than a little sick of it.  They'll put the whole thing on you that they've somehow turned around on a dime- - and don't see it as the least unusual- - and you're too much of a dolt not to know beyond a doubt that every word passing out of their lips is a complete and total lie.  The thing is that Clowie was able to gauge her response in advance and she was completely correct.  (Maybe they should hire her at NASA or the CIA)  Clowie is someone who can look at you with those big innocent eyes being genuinely concerned that somehow- - you don't regard every word as though it came from Mt Sinai itself.

Tuscon -Still the Above of Reactionaries and Biggots

If you saw Sixty Minutes last night you saw the most profound display of naked bigotry ever on the public air waves.  But this is the reality in certain parts of the country.  The case involves an aging Tuscon Hotel that burned down of unknown causes in December of 1970.  Yet before the flames were even out- the cops had nabbed a sixteen year old Black guy located in the halls.   At first they enlisted his help in knocking on doors to get people out of their rooms.  For some reason the cops changed their tune and regarded him as a suspect and grilled and threatened him for hours on end.  By the way what we said in a previous recent posting about the Cops throwing out the fourth and fifth amendments- - think about it.  If a police officer says to you "May I search your vehicle" how many of us are going to say "Hell no- bug off".  The Policeman is the guy with the gun, and we know they aren't shy about using it.  Who wants to take the chance?  One guy on the "Cops" show last Saturday was read his Meranda rights- - - and still they kept pressing him for answers and accusing them of lying to them when he wasn't forthcoming.  That's one case that's definitely going to be thrown out when it gets to court.  You will remember that the LAPD questioned OJ Simpson for only forty minutes about the Nicole murder and then they thanked him and let him go.  The transcript of the conversation was so devoid of evidence against OJ that they did not even play it at his trial.  In this case in Arizona they did not even record the all nighter questioning, and apparently made few notes.  They had decided that they had to blame someone for it.  After all no fire ever starts from unknown or accidental causes.  Of course the truth of the matter is that even NOW after the man has been serving time for forty years they STILL don't believe it was Arsen.  It's "possible' it could be arson.  So the sixteen year old was convicted for something that's only a possability to begin with.  This Judge gets this silly goony smile on her face when she speaks of the matter.  Reporters get her to virtually admit the whole case was bogus from the start, but even now the Tuscon DA won't let this innocent guy OUT of jail except on one privision, and that is he plead no lo contendre - - - to the charges, and then he can have his freedom.  So you can have freedom if you sell your soul.  So basically the system "broke" this man.  What kind of place in Hell is reserved for a judiciary like this?  Then we have that old Arizona fire chief who stated that "I have determined in my expertise a psychological profile of a potential arsonist.  He would be Black and about eighteen and have as his motive a desire to get people out of their rooms so that he could go through their rooms after they left and steal their wallets and valuables they'd deserted in a panic".  And this guy was questioned as "The expert in the case".  And today Randy Rhodes talks about Justice Roberts questioning this gay feminist.  Judge Roberts seems to say that "You gays have nothing to complain about because gay people couldn't even get in this country till 1990 and you people had no rights and have lose so many referendum votes at the State level. And so if you people have power now, and if the tide on the Gay issue seems to have turned, it must be because you people on the left have an enormous ammount of money and political power to effect these changes in the popular oppinion".    This is Justice Roberts.  He's money and corporate himself and all he sees as Money and Corporate and sees no possible way people could otherwise change their oppinion on something.  As Randy Rhodes states, "It couldn't be because people know people of mixed black and white marriage and seen their kids, and seen gay people and gay couples and have come to know them and have learned that they are just like anybody else".  Justice Roberts appears to be very miopic.

There is one state in the South where there was a whole block of schools over the period of one semester whose test scores suddenly jumped 45% and people got suspicious and found that the District Superintendent had personally ordered that teachers erase and change test scores.  We have made such an idol of the test that we sacrifice everything else for this test- - - which of course increases the profits of the companies that put out these Standardized Tests.  Of course it seems that all of these "efficiency experts" solution to any and all problems is to cut out science and the arts and physical education including things like "midnight basketball" and sink all that money into preeming for the Test.  So that many school teachers find their carriers crucified on an Alter of low standardized test scores.  Of course these tests don't measure everything, and some say that they are culturally biased.  Dealing with the Student as a Person is a concept not allowable in this system.  It's a fact that inner city schools have a lot more problems to overcome including a bad home life and being under-funded, as well as the obvious crime element disrupting class for the good students who genuinely want to learn.  Of course- - tea party people cling to this image of "The log cabin myth" where they will say that Abraham Lincoln was born in a log cabin and came to be President.  These Tea Party people mock Obama for saying he wants to bring the poor up to the middle class because they say disparaging "Who just wants to be average and mediocre.  America is the land where anything is possible and anyone can grow up to be a millionaire but it can't happen if our economy is constrained by socialist tax laws and social engineering."   But when you come down to it there is still a powerful shadow government out there in "America's Heartland".  The Aryan Brotherhood has been on a killing spree of Attorneys General- - to subvert our laws.  The idea that justice itself can be held hostage at the barrel of a gun is no longer an unheard of thing in America.  But candidates like John Edwards who campaign on this idea that we have degenerated into two Americas, one black, one white, one rich, and one poor- - a guy who spells it all out so explicitly- - has to be taken out of the way, one way or another.

Well congress gets back to work this week, hopefully.  They still keep saying that this or that immigration bill will finally get passed.  We did not type Saturday or Sunday and I'd like to tell you about my weekend except Mal Evans has advised me not to.  But I did want to add in a few more "bits" that just missed getting in last Friday's posting.  For instance we said that the "higgs boson" gravity machine could be "turned down".  But this is only in Einstein's theory and in in reality Can't Happen.  So I'm sorry but there will be more time-warp drives coming out any time soon.  I'll tell you something else Startrek has that's impossible and laughable and that's the Transporter device to "beam" people places.  Because as hard as it is to turn matter into energy- - - it can be done in devices like the Atomic Bomb and other controled nuclear reactions.  But you will note that a tiny ammount of matter would make a LOT of Energy.  So MATTER is the more, shall we say "compressed" format.  Not energy.  It would be difficult but possible - to for example- - transmute lead into uranium using Alpha particles -  in a step by step transmutation process.  But once again even here you are "swimming up stream" because the transmutation process is usually devolutional- - or down grading- - not evolutional- - or upgrading an atomic number.   But I'll tell you how they did do it- - meaning transport people over vast distances quickly.  It uses the process of what you might call "time renting".  You have to pre set your program in advance because the intervals of time are fixed.  This goes back to "the other side of the Ether Void theory" - - or lighter than ether material.  This is not turning DOWN the- - wave, to use a surf analogy, it's repositioning yourself on the wave to make positive Use of it.  You set your departure times arrival times and also the return and arrival times the other way and you "allot" that time in advance.  You have to because you are as it were "borrowing from the future" and the only place to get the future from is from the Past.  (don't ask)  However Romulans or those with their technology are able to use what they refer to as "real time" travel.  I use the word "Real time" here to mean - "ongoing, ordenary time".   This part is being updated with better into.  Now I'm told it's classified.  But it's called "Void jumping" and I imagine it taps into what we used to call "hyperspace". That's all i was able to say 25 years ago and it's still the case.  By the way - - - On the planet Sirius A - - everybody on the whole planet has the same Clock time.  The days and nights are so out of sync-  with the sun rising and setting about an hour later each day - it doesn't matter anyhow because people's days are organized not on whether the sun is above or below the horizon anyhow.

We have a few odd factoids for you of a cosmic nature.  The "Houston group" and the "Memphis group" produced similar types of music from the same era and some lump together.  However only the Houston Group is a "proprietary Federation group" from the planet Real (Ray-all)  I was taken (abducted) there on an Aldeberan VIII vessel and the whole thing was "suspect".  Particular if Edomites were involved.  I have one Sci Tech trivia book that could be renamed "Everything I know about stuff Nobody Else Cares About".  For instance did you know that the Majority of surf music- - it's cosmic origens comes from what state?  Colorado.  That's right.  I didn't believe it either, and still don't but that's what they say.  It's more western Colorado- in the mountains.  The Pikes tend to be mainly east of the Rockeys and in western Nebraska.   By the way that little barb about discriminating between Real and Unreal things- and being "impartial" - this was a jab at Gay Marriage, I don't know if you picked up on that.  Also in the first paragraph there was a bit left out.  It involved a long iron chain with a powerful magnet on the end of it being lowered down this shaft- - with live wires here and there- - and if the chain touches any of the wires you're done for.  Then the chain's powerful magnet hooks up to a large Silver Hammer, which must be silver place, or it wouldn't be magnetic- - and then it's hoisted up.  A few days ago I had a different conversation with Stu and friend.  A friend of Stewarts was affirming the dubious theory or "How the Romulan Cloaking device works".  Of course the Federation people say "That won't work".  We told you the theory a year or so ago and it involves radiation and molecular agitation throwing off the Event Horizon - - but this assistent of Stu's said that- - unless you were "neuteralized' or un-radiated- - you would stay Invisable for perhaps several hours.  But that Baryon particles- - - were used to neuteralize the effects of invisibility.  They use this term "Baryon" differently from how our scientists use the word.  And further I learned that Baryon particles were in fact - - alpha particles.  Reigelians spell Baryon with an A whereas Romulans use the "Berryon" particle spelling.  This is a Romulan and Reigelian word (Barry) meaning "useful" or also meaning "ambulitory" and so the word is used to denote people still physically able to pick up a weapon and fight.  This baryon particle kind of works along the same principle of putting additional potatoes in soup that has too much salt in it to neuteralize the salt.  By the way - - you have some cortessian to Sirius A transfer of some words.  "Sith"  as kind of a cognate of "swift" is a description of horses on the Cortessian and Reigel home planets.  The word the Romulans have is Fleisig- - which can be confused with the German word "busy" because the Romulan word means "free flowing' or "fast" as well as "busy".  There is the conotation of "opperating smoothely".    I'll take a break now.

The Verdict - Speaking the Truth

This was last night's Jeopardy question last night about the words Ver and Dict, being Latin for "speaking the truth".  If one renders a verdict or decision on a case one should certainly be seeking justice and speaking honestly.  But people like to invent things in the Constitution that aren't there and to deny things that are there.  There is a provision in the US Constitution that says "No debt shall be questioned that is incurred by this government".  Yet in 1917 during the spending of World War I Congress instituted this thing called the "debt ceiling".  The thing is that subsequent bills by Congress itself have contradicted this bill with obligations such as Social Security.  These are indeed "Entitlements' but keep in mind this is a word people like to play games with for want of seeing the obvious.  It indeed is an "Entitlement".  It is a Right.  It is something that has been earned, and cannot be negotiated away.  I think prenuptual agreements are wrong because they Negotiate Away certain sacred values inherent in the marriage contract itself.  When the Bible speaks of human sacrifice, I believe this entails negotiating away certain inailiable human Rights such as Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.  The people of Florida in 2000 were "entitled", they had a Right, to have their votes Counted.  But somehow this right got negotiated away.  Now in this latest monetary budget bill to avert the Fiscal Cliff- - - certain incentives and come-ons were added.  Disney Corp was given a lot of money as were the big banks and Wall Street.  Also I'm told there were yet MORE deals to finance the off shoring of more American jobs.  The Average American doesn't realize the high level of pork in these bills passed by Congress.  Newt Gingrich said that the Hurricane Sandy bill was "a train that was headed down the track, so congress just loaded up this bill with over fifty percent Pork".  This is something the American people were not told.  With all this gun hysteria out this week in particular, nobody is even thinking about the fact we are heading tword another of those "self inflicted wounds" known as the Debt Ceiling Crisis.  Nobody argues that paying off debt is better than HAVING the debt.  Clearly we'd rather not have it and clearly it would be a good thing to reduce it.  But the idea of using this unconstitutional "Wall" of the Debt Cailing as an excuse to stick it to the poor and the least among us able to provide for ourselves- - this to me borders on the criminal.  It's funny how the Rich are so quick to remind a poor person when he is even a Little in debt.  Yet Jesus Christ himself tought on the folly about point out the puny debts poor people incur- without first aknoledging their OWN indebtedness, perhaps even to God Himself.  Rich people are hypocrites because by everything they say they act as if they themselves Never Need Government and wish somehow it would just "go away" and "leave them alone".  But if this were really the case they wouldn't be trying so hard to take government over, which they have, or to deny the poor and minorities their democratic rights.

 

I was mentally formulating some possible topics for the lead-off posting in “Soap Opera of Life” for a while.  One point of interest that struck me was that character traits per se are not the same as “good” or ”bad” personal accomplishments of life.  These are a mixture of both character and environment and of course opportunity.  You can be the bravest person in the world and still be doomed to a certain death, if the environment is sufficiently adverse- - like Nazi troopers storming into Paris in 1940 or something.  And yet how many Christians such as Fred Price and Chuck Smith- - measure a person’s “godliness” by how big of a church following he has, or what kind of car he drives, or whether he gets tons of fan mail from groopies every week.  The plain fact is that God has repeatedly stated in the Bible that he ideas with the man who often has to stand Alone against his adversaries, and that God is with such a man every bit as much as he’s “with” Chuck Smith.  The strange thing is that Good and Evil are not entirely "opposites".  A list of cardinal virtues and vices will not be exact corilary opposites.  Good is a Proactive force- - and yet our reaction to evil is normally Reactive.  It's a funny thing is that a hypothetical person who is perfect and "never makes miatakes" is not per see "Good".  He just has an absence of Evil.  I have said in my writings before- - even if I see acts of evil - - - that I will forgive a Lot from a person - -  if he shows signs of true Bravery.  Because it takes goodness to poseess Courage.  And this is what a lot of people seem to lack entirely.  It's sheer lack of any character and moral cowardess to an apalling degree.  So it's the extreme moral cowardess of both the tea party and the Born Again Christian community that galls me.

Sometimes we have idioms in the English language that may seem illogical.  For instance we say “loosen” and “unloosen” to mean the same thing.  We talk about a “disgruntaled” employee, but I have not once heard of a “gruntled” employee, or know what one would be.  Sometimes “narrow based” or “narrow minded” can refer to completely opposite actions.  For instance if you construct an “narrow” IQ test it may be one which will not allow for the subtalties of very stupid people or very smart people.  You may be able to answer questions way more challenging than the ones on that test- - and are Judged adversely, merely because you are brought “down” to the level of the test.  So it’s like if the person writing the test only has a 105 intelligence then you are comdemned to being rated at 105 intelligence, yourself.  Often though the exact opposite problem exists.  On these political tests they give you- - they “point” or if you will “directionalize” the answers- - they telegraph or target the “correct” answer in advance.  This is your High Kurtosis phallocy.  There are all sorts of far left and far right questions on that test.  The wide ranging nature of the test is not the issue here- - but they want all of the “scoring’ to show up at some ethereal “point’ or spike right in the center of the test- - and are content to have the wings or “tails” spread way out to the left and to the right.  These people, though they show up on the test- - are dismissed as “too far out to take seriously” and all.  Some people say that conservatives are “anti intellectual” but I regarded Dad as a bit knee jerk and anti intellectual because when I would make an “intellectual case” for Conservative Christian thought say 35 years ago- - it would be dismissed not for any academic reasons but for the same sort of lazy “generalities” the tea party people employ now.  They case their arguments not on any Facts, but rather these “memes” they have been brainwashed by and don’t require any cognitive thought.

There are memes in society that survive independent of any fact.  One on that list was this adage that “Well you know.  I’m like a tea bag.  When I get into hot water I only get stronger”.  This is physically a flat out falsehood.  Tea bags that have been in hot water for a long time only brew tea that is both weaker and more bitter than a fresh tea bag.  And then there is the one about how “whatever doesn’t kill you will make you stronger”.  You need only to consult with a heart patient to see the folly of this.  Those people who actually DO have a cholesterol problem, where the rating is above 250 or something- - are in fact in more danger from consuming that chocolate milk shake, then I would be, for instance.  The fact that the LAST one didn’t kill you, or that last cigarette didn’t kill you- - won’t make you “stronger” to face the next one.  Of course then there is this notion about - - - generosity to the poor.  They say “If I give this starving person a meal, he’s only more likely to be at my door asking for another meal tomorrow”.  But what’s left unsaid is that “But if I deny him- - if I get lucky he’ll die of starvation in the next 24 hours and I’ll never have to face him again”.  This whole idea is that if a want or need is granted then “They’ll only want or need the same thing again later” is a silly line of argument.  Maybe God, if he’s looking for example for a really “low maintenance pet” should just adopt a pet rock, and this will solve a lot of his problems.  Dead people have no feelings and never complain about anything”.   Then there is the meme that only rich people “Know the value of a dollar”.  This one is so absurdly false and more likely than not it’s the exact opposite.  POOR people are the ones who truly know the value of a dollar and what it can do for them, and are more than willing to work for money, because they DO know the value of it.  It’s rich people, on the other hand, who are so obsessed and preoccupied by their MONEY that they will pay a business manager a huge commission to insure that poor people or the government never get a penny of it.  According to Judy, every rich person out there like Mitt Romney must “have really worked hard” and of course understands “Biblical economic principles” (mean greed and love of money) and as such because they are rich then Godliness is imputed to them, and you can’t attack “Godly” people!

Self Defense Isn't Such a Bad Thing

In George Washington’s blog now they lead off with an impressive 20/20 ABC video that makes a strong case that guns are the great equalizer and give the law abiding citizen a fighting chance against crime.  It is pointed out that there are no statistics on the crime that was NOT committed because the potential crime target was carrying a piece.  Often the mere sight of a gun is enough to get the intruder running.  In Washington DC the murder rate skyrocketed AFTER they issued a thirty year ban on all firearms within the District of Columbia.  The 20/20 piece goes on to say that there is NO documented evidence of Any gun legislation ever accounting for a drop in crime statistics.  It is pointed out that Britain is the most violent country in what used to be called the EEC.  (I’m old school)  There is a city in Georgia that actually mandated that every citizen own a firearm and the crime rate actually went DOWN.  Of course felons would much prefer a total gun ban because the scariest part of robbing someone is not being caught by law enforcement, but rather the possibility that the victim might be armed and shoot back.  Of course you see evidence in history of this fact.  The Nazis made the Jews turn in their weapons and a few years later they were easy pickings to be carted off to concentration camps, knowing the Nazis would face no resistance.  Passivity is not the way to deal with an aggressor.  This is one of the all time greatest lies in the Sermon on the Mount, among so MANY lies Christianity routinely tells all the time.  This bit about “not knowing” is itself an important weapon in fighting or preventing aggression against you.  The worst thing that can happen is (A) for you to declaire a uilatteral peace and B for the enemy to know all of your weaknesses in advance.  BOTH of these things were the case with Pastor Bill Halliday, which is why that relation with him turned out to be so very injurious to me.  The idea that anybody not suitable for employment because of whatever “disability” and this alone barring them from owning a gun - - is an insult to vast segments of society.  I recommend that everybody watch this 20/20 segment in George Washington’s blog.  It will really turn your head around on this issue.  Of course I think even Rush Limbaugh pointed out that this idea propounded about “Ape not killing Ape” in the movie Planet of the Apes, is the biggest crock of Bull to come down the pike.  If gorillas had the dexterity to fire weapons, you can your Aunt Jenny that they would be firing on humans, if those humans themselves were not armed.  As to the idea of the “gun free zone”, I guess this is a new term we will all have to get used to.  The idea is that sometimes in these mass shooting cases, at least according to ABC, there ARE armed people who take down the shooter before he can kill that many people.  And again- - these mass killers don’t care if they themselves are killed.  That isn’t the issue.  The issue is - - they want to get in the guiness book of world records to be the number one taker of human life of all time and gain their perverse sense of fame and immortality that way.  It’s pointed out- - the question is raised “If a burgler were breaking into your home, which would you rather have- - a gun or a telephone?  You can use the telephone to call the cops and they will get over there just in time to photograph your dead body.  Think about it.  There is one more aspect of this gun issue I have to bring up that has ticked me off for decades.  Michal Jackson the long time KABC talk show host, used to repeat this adage we've heard endlessly lately about how "Most likely a gun in the home will kill a family member before it will ever be used to stop an intruder".  The only thing is I've heard that host Michael Jackson himself had a conceiled weapons permit.  I think all those rich liberal Hollywood types have conceiled weapons permits issued by the city.  But only the hoy palloy elite people of the city get to have them.  If there is one thing I can't stand it's a person making claims about "The way things ought to Be" that he doesn't for a minute actually believe, himself.  It's also kind of an economic class issue.  It could be argued that the tea party people are actually arguing that the lower classes of - - the rest of us - - have the same inherent rights that elite liberals have always had.

Randy Rhodes now has issued a flat out “fatwah” or whatever that nobody on SSI who is there because they are “unable to work” should have the right to own a gun.  She says if you are fatigued or under “mental stress” or PTSD or these people in the South with their “mad money checks once a month- - should be out of hand barred for life, apparently, from ever owning a gun.  I would never own a gun.  But I have never been on conservatorship and have never been ajuticated by any court to be “mentally incompetent’ and how I ever got on SSI is a mystery to this day.  It’s just some mysterious strings that Mom knew how to pull.  But since I am now 62 aren’t I about entitled to “begin drawing retirement” anyhow soon?  There are a lot of professions where you are really considered too old to work by age 62.  One guy suggested that the national guard have some “auxiliary adjunct” where ordinary citizens could own guns and be technically part of a “well regulated militia”.  Randy Rhodes came out against this.  She questioned whether people, even the military, should be able to take their gun home at night for private use.  And she also said something about how all the ammunition should be in a locked box and nobody given access to it without “it being part of a specific mission”.  I think of these old Andy Griffith films where Don Knotts alias Barney Fithe was allowed one bullet and that one bullet was kept in a special place.  I’ve heard people say that they own a gun but it’s kept in a locked safe and it’s not loaded anyhow and the amo for it is somewhere else.  How the hell is that going to work out for you in a real home invasion crisis where the lives of your wife and kids is in jeopardy.  “Excuse me while I work the combination to my safe where I keep my gun”.  Oh excuse me again- I have to look for the bullets.  I can’t remember where I stashed them?  And the criminal will say “Oh then, I’ll help you look.  And I’ll just help myself to this jewelry as my commission”.  Randy was maybe just a little over the top today referring to guns that haven’t been purchased as “potential human life’ and “snow flake babies”.  And those guns in police impoundment compounds are all saying “Don’t destroy us.  We’re valuable.  We still have something to give”.  I don’t know what kind of a “non destroy” policy Tuscon has for it’s impounded firearms.  (Maybe the impounded guns have to go before a gov "death panel" to give final approval on melting the guns down, and turning them into something that's actually useful.) What is clear is that nobody is ready to come to any real decisions on this issue.  I had Mike Huckibee on earlier on a San Francisco radio station.  They claimed they were the only conservative radio station in town but minutes later I came across a Rush Limbaugh station in Oakland, and Rush Limbaugh was also on in liberal Santa Cruz.  My point is that if conservatives can make such powerful inroads here in the heart of liberalism- - - there is precious little hope of ever getting anything done on the whole gun issue.  The American people are just not ready for it.  Rush Limbaugh is outraged over an Executive Order that President Obama has not even issued yet, but they are all sure it will a be vast and wide-sweeping denial of everyone’s gun rights.  Joe Byden is meeting with the National Rifle Association today so apparently even Joe isn’t convinced as to exactly what we should do on the gun issue but is welcoming more input from the far right.  And now there is this new concept that has been introduced called “The gun free zone’.  They now claim that since “gun free zones” have been set up in Europe, that gun attacks on civilians has skyrocketed, and the saying is alive and well that “The only way to stop a bad person with a gun, is a good person with a gun”.  I’m saying this now.  Maybe we on the left should just drop this issue for now because from my vantage point, the issue is unwinnable.  There is just too much entrenched anti gun regulation paranoia out there to even discuss this subject rationally.  And we don’t want to add “mass hysteria” to all our other crises.

"And now, a break for Local Affairs".  When they got done cleaning in here over the lunch break it smelled of mildewed dust with kind of a burnt smell like a heater going on for the first time, which isn’t the case.  I think they just use dirty mops and dust cloths so that the room is dirtier than when they began.  We had grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch and potato salad.  I had a second helping of potato salad and another half sandwich.  They had finally refilled the pepper for my noodle soup.  We had an apple for desert.  We had meat balls and rice and gravy and brocolli for dinner.  Our side got vanilla ice cream.  The other side got raspberry.  We've been doing a little photo encores in our lead-off images, because (A) I haven't done new photos in a while and (B) most of you probably haven't seen them anyhow.

 OF COURSE it takes little imagination to invision what would happen if the black slaves of the South had firearms.  There would be no "Yes, massa" and "No, massa".  They would merely have to pull their conceiled piece from their coat and point it at the Lord of the Mansion.  Then they could invoke the John Kovel doctrine (of KFI) and blow the guy's head off without even giving him an oppertunity to speak for himself on the grounds that "Well, you know he's guilty of SOMETHING - - even if I can't prove it.  And if he isn't, his ancestors sure are!  On the live and local program they said that Fredrick Douglas is not mentioned at all in the “Lincoln” movie, though he was perhaps the individual most instrumental in ending slavery.  I guess they are imputing to Abraham Lincoln some far reaching vision of a new America like Obama and Health Care- - - that in fact Abraham Lincoln didn’t have.  It’s very understandable that Black people would be upset by this distortion of history.  Of course the idea that these tea party people think they could take on the entire US Government is rather silly.  They don't really believe that.  Besides, their side already fought the Civil War once- - and they didn't fare so well.  I don't for the life of me see why they'd want to try it again.

I watched the soap opera at one.  I can well see why Clowie would want to give Kate Roberts the finger and then send her on her way empty handed.  I wouldn’t have warm and fuzzy feelings about someone who tried to murder me, either.  Particularly if husband Philip “kicked her to the curb” when he found out he wasn’t the father of Parker, which I am coming to suspect is what happened.  Rather than bother Clowie and Victor- - perhaps Kate Roberts should have a real sit down chat with her own son, and have him tell her exactly what happened.  Samantha is still doing the yo-yo thing between two lovers.  I think she needs to be honest with both men and make it clear to each that neither one owns her, and that it might be a long time before she comes to any long-term life changing decisions.  Whichever one walks away from here upon hearing that news- she can just go with the other one.  Makes sense to me.  I went to the store after two for cigarettes and found myself three cents short of being able to afford a snack without having to break a whole dollar, so I held off.  I haven’t blogged in two days and frankly I’ve been too lazy to do the research necessary to do a good blog.  It’s as I say - -  that the media’s promotion of any story is inverse to its actual potential importance or magnitude.
