First of all I'd like to congradulate all you people who found this blog. This is the first time we've posted here in over seven months. Right now I'm listening to Latin Jazz on Yahoo. Some of that stuff reminds me a little too much of something Dezi Arnez would have done sixty years ago. I just got through eating a crab salad lunch. When I order "Seafood and Crab" at Subway I tell them to hold the mustard and hold the pickles, because those things don't go well with sea food. You better remember that; it's likely to show up on the next trivia test. Today is Good Friday and I'm wearing my blood red "Seminole" shirt. That's from all the blood of guilty White people the Seminoles killed. Today it could also stand for the blood of Christ. But there are some compelling reasons why we should hold off in celebrating Easter for another lunar cycle. First of all this will be the first Easter in my lifetime where the sun doesn't rise on Easter morning till nearly seven o clock. Also, "Maundy Thursday" or Holy Comunion will have been celebrated on March 20th. and as you know that ought to be on a full moon, and normally it's the first full moon AFTER March 21st. Also I don't believe we have ever had an Easter during the first week of March Madness in the NCAA. Also I don't believe St. Patrick's Day should ever come during Holy Week what with all the partying and getting drunk and all. Of course what we need is an Easter update theme, you Rush Limbaugh fans, and may I suggest "Out of Time" by the Rolling Stones. If Rush were doing a "Me" update the theme he'd pick would most likely be "On the Border" what with its creeping "Black" elements in Eagles music. If I were doing a Christianity update I'd alternate between two songs. One of them is "Little by Little" by the Rolling Stones. Great refrain. The other is "Not a Second Time" by the Beatles. Rush Limbaugh for that "Kennedy spring break" incident back in 1991 had not two, but four update themes. This was when Edward Kennedy and his nephew got arrested for getting drunk and picking up women down in Palm Beach for "Typical family Easter reunion". The four songs were that Bart Simpson one "I didn't do it". Then there was "Kenne-day-O" and "The Fillanderer" and finally "They'd arrest anyone else but when the Kennedys show up they use their wealth".
The Shroud of Turin made it into the news again this morning because some people believe it's still authentic. The punch line of that is that the Shroud evidence shows that it was a "Still Living Person", who was wrapped in it. There was talk today on channel 40 about how Jesus came to seek and to save what was Lost. And one of the things that was Lost was "Dominion" over the earth by man. I prefer the word "Stewardship" rather than "Dominion", which implies some kind of royal sovreignty. God entrusted to us responsability for the earth and to tend it and keep it. Some preachers say that they are anti "green" because "It will only encourage mass abortion and gay marriage or anything to prevent reproduction". My response is you're mixing apples with oranges. God charges us with keeping the earth in proper balance, and we'll just leave it at that. OK?
Now they are getting on our case for wood burning fireplaces. Wood burning fireplaces will not be allowed to be constructed in homes in the LA area any more. In the whole southern county region of the state, you will not be allowed to have a fire in your fireplace burning wood- - on bad smog days, or any day when the AQMD decrees that there is too much "particulate matter" in the atnosphere, which knowing them is likely to be every day. Next they'll be coming after our barbecues. There is already one Christian vitamins outfit that says char-broiled meat gives you cancer. I don't know if they're advocating you eat your meat raw or what.
Sarah Jane Olson was let out of prison after serving six years for plotting to blow up an LAPD police car for the SLA, but the crime never came off. She was captured in 1999 and had lived a whole other respectable life for over two decades. Personally I would have let her off with a fine or community service or something, but she served six years, and the police are mad because she didn't serve the whole twelve. In another case a Black man was released from prison after serving time for a crime he didn't commit. He was "inside" 23 years! A witness lied and finally recanted his story so they let him go with no plans to re-try him again.
People are becomming more aware of the turmoil in China these days. There are protests in Tibet about the Olympic Torch passing through there, and there are also protests in Canton, another region of China, next to Hong Kong. Other people want to boycott the Olympics on the grounds their pollution is so bad it's a health hazzard for long distance runners. I'm starting to think it might be a pretty good idea to boycott. Of course the Chinese have George Bush's balls in a jar, so Bush has to trust the Chinese implicity on so many matters.
I imagine you've heard all the news about how there won't be re-votes in either Michigan or Florida for controle of those 300 odd deligates. It could be that yesterday will go down as a historic turning point in the Obama campaign as the day it became impossible for Hillary Clinton to win. Of course Obama has other problems with the Federal Government breaking into his private records on three different occasions earlier this year. Now Berock Obama is in trouble for making a politically "insensitive" statement about White people. It would seem that saying his grandmother was "a typical white person of her generation" is offensive to White people. I guess Rush Limbaugh needs to start a political correctness class for Black people. I must admit the remark went right past me. I must be dense.
Then there is this whole bit with Pastor Hagee's remarks or whoever Mc Cain's pastor is- - and hos John Mc Cain sought his endorsement. Now Hillary Clinton is in trouble because there is a photograph of her husband with that Chicago pastor who made the flame thrower remarks. One talk show host today was speculating what sort of Church George Bush goes to, or if he goes to church at all. You know I forsee a time when religion itself will become taboo to practice in any form. I would like to quote from myself a few words right now on the subject of cults:
. I got that “Mind Lock” Cult book out of the box and read the chapter on this one Jewish guy joining the Moonies. All the questions and conflicts that ran through his mind ran through mine as I was wondering whether I’d ever be a genuine Calvary Chapel Christian. “Everybody but me seems so happy”. He was always told that his many questions would be answered by and by but never were.
This is what happens to you when you're sleep deprived, or "sleep depraved" as Tommy Smuthers would say. Your mind short circuits reality. Note that new prospective converts are not allowed to speak or congragate next to each other, and your "alone time" is checked at almost zero. The pressure to conform with the "everybody else is doing it" is quite high. I would assirt that the Calvary Chapels differ not in kind but only in degree. Another mantras is "Don't listen to your feelings; your feelings will always lie". What they pummel you with is a sea of re-defined words. I've lived it. I've gone through all the mind games. The really "smart people" are not the ones who fall for the line "Well, you don't want to quit now, before you've heard all the evidence".
