Setting the Bar High Gains Stamina
I am setting a goal that Mitt Romney will fail more spactacularly in the first TV debate this Wednesday that millions of Americans will see. I predict that Mitt Romney will go beyond the fondest hopes of his worst detractors and commit a series of major gaffs that will astound even those who are on our side. From this debate Obama will open up a double digit lead, which he will never lose between now and the election. I predict that the democrats will take back the House of Representatives. The Democrats MUST take back the house or this nightmare we have experianced these past two years in terms of governmental gridlock will continue through the next four years. This would be an intollerable situation. We need to create the level of defensiveness of Romney - Ryan similar to the sense of utter doom that Goldwater - Miller felt in 1964 when the media had clearly turned against them. I think it will be "interesting' to look at Friday's unemployment numbers. Everybody is predicting an economic snag coming and that numbers will be up. Let's prove them wrong. Sometimes you have to be proactive in setting your goals and act as if you are on the winning path, and this will increase your odds of success over what they would be otherwise, with the bar set lower to begin with.

I see the chances of a Dodger post season as better than people think. San Francisco may be smug but the same "powers" that bring the '49ers success don't rub off on their baseball counterparts. I only felt you needed to be reminded of that.
The I Phone V has all these glitches like Wi Fi connection problems and dumping Google maps and glitches with their own maps on various landmarks you all know about. Some say that if Steve Jobs were still alive these problems wouldn't be happening. The truth is that I phones have always had their problems, like the antenna problem a year or two ago, that was solved by an antenna case. Steve Jobs' death has nothing to do with Apple's problems. It's strictly a case of accumulating bad corporate karma and their shortcomings are just coming home to roost, as one by one, other companies, with better karma, will be moving ahead and passing them by.
Jerry Brown signed that "homosexual rights" bill where now a disease has its own legal protection. This is what you might call the Neil Savedra-ization of laws surrounding homosexuality, where it's now a crime to decide what sort of care your own child gets for sexual identification issues, which every parent worth his salt- - Is and Should Be Concerned About. This law makes it a crime to offer or practice psychotherapy on anyone with a goal to getting them off the unprofitable and in the end - unfulling gay life- - - into evolving into more of a "whole individual" without such proclivities. Neil Savedra has an almost visceral like for anyone who will come against any disease because after all, we as mortals have No Rights as Christian, but Satan is to be fully accorded all his "Constitutional Rights", so to speak. That's my judgement and I'm sticking to it.
People come against proposition 37 or the genetic manipulation of food measure as "Half assed" or "ill conceived" or "misbegotten" or "Ill thought out" or what have you. The people who make these No on 37 ads are the ones who are ill. It's kind of like how many view the Affordable Care act. They see it as a case of "It's not as sweeping as we would like, but it's a start". We heard this crap from Mitt Romney on the race issue and his take on the Dream act. Remember he called it a "stop gap measure" and wasn't a "Final Solution" although anyone who would use the term "Final Solution" and race in the same sentense oughta have their head examined. People complain that our rapid transit system is "inadequate" and therefore the answer is not "to do better next time" but instead to blow up the progress we have already made and go back to the horse and buggy or something. Make no mistake about it. These Proposition 37 opponents know their own ox is being gored. And I dare say the ones putting out this Ad against the proposition - - are the very genetic engineers that manipulate our foods and screw up the ecology with consequences of almost "Book of Revelations" perportions. Capish?
Sometimes you can have a - shall we say - cosmic deal crammed down your throat you don't like, but you learn when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Raphael is mad at E J on Days of our Lives for being forced on pain of imprisonment of his sister, Gabriel, from five to ten, choose rather to dump what was a bad relation to begin with. Getting back with Samantha Brady would be the worst thing he could do regardless of threats and blackmail. In a perverse way E J is doing him a favor by forcing him to do something he should have already done to begin with. Of course I know any self respecting man does not like to have their free will violated. My advice is "Deal with it".
They are saying that the I 405 bridge demolition was a major success with no traffic problems. In fact word is they actually reopened the freeway a few hours early. Sometimes endless media carping does bear productive fruits - - even if it's like those spoonfulls of cod liver oil your mother made you take as a kid and later on that you learned it help prevent some horrible condition that one or more of your piers your age is now suffering from.
This whole idea of "inverted karma" broached on the last posting, which is actually the one ABOVE this one, time wise, so you just read it, is not an entirely new one. This means that some people can't really feel "alive" unless they are doing the most dastardly Evil, often even self destructive Evil. Trying to "metaphysize" this reality is a little tricky but I think we get at least a "C" for effort. Try picturing two funnels connected by the skinny pour hole. So the other funnel opens up downward. It's not just a case of being a dead fish going with the flow, but you indeed strive to ourdo yourself in your previous evil. The idea of "giving your neighbor a fair shake" in life is as repulsive to him or her as for a normal person giving a hobo on the street a blow job. There is another school of "Evil" or the C S Lewis model I'm not adverse to, either. He maintains that "Productive Evil" or evil that actually accomplishes something big, like Hitler or Mao, has to be mixed with no small ammount of GOOD or else it would never get off the ground. The message here is not to intellectually oppose the "good" in such an evil person- - but to see the Evil person as an opponet who must be stopped with the zeal of a Spartan preparing himself for the next Greek City war.
