Pat Buchannon - What Happened?

I just have one question about tonight’s Mc Laughlin group discussion, and that is “What the hell has happened to Pat Buchannon over the past few years.  He used to be an American, or at least I think he did.  Now he is touting the Russian line about now no nation, including the United States has the right to defend itself, and somehow is not a sovereign entity as to the wars it chooses to fight in.  Pat went on to praise Putin’s article in the Times the other day and said ‘He landed one right down the smoke stack” alluding to the alledged accuracy of our missiles during the first Gulf War.  He also said that Putin has the inherent right to give military aid to Syria, and also bought into the Putin lie that “For all we know it could very well be the rebels that used that Seren gas”.   And frankly, I am highly offended that the former head of the Russian Communist KGB would dare to invoke the name of Got, to buttress his authority.  I’m surprised his tongue didn’t fall out of his mouth as he said the words.  Mort and others countered that “There is not the slightest doubt in my mind that Assad was the one who ordered the attack. Pat was generally at odds with the three other panelists, one of which was new, and Mort Zuckerman by far was the one in my not so humble opinion that was dead on target in his perception of the entire situation.  We know that Israel, in shades of the first Gulf War, is under pressure to keep silent now, but we all know who Israel is desperate to be the victor in this stand-off and it’s not Syria’s Assad.  There was talk about the Pope’s message and now “violence leads to death”.   That’s like saying “Hunger leads to food”.  Not necessarily.   Not to cozy up to the NRA or anything but sometimes the most effective remedy to a bad man with a gun is - - a Good man with a gun.  You can play Ghandi if you want to and tell all the British subjects they can ward off the Nazi advances if they just assume the locus position and contemplate their navels, but we live in the real world.  We don’t have time for such “ethereal” matters now.  It’s like a famous person once said, “Either lead, follow, or get out of the way”.   It’s almost as if every word out of Pat Buchannon’s mouth was put there by Putin himself.  But let’s look at the UN resolution itself.  First of all I have a major issue with Russia being allowed permanent Veto Power status over anything the so called “security countil” decides.  So they did major dental extraction surgery and made this resolution against Assad a toothless exercise in futility.   As I have been saying all afternoon - - I think we’re pretty much doomed to more of this rudderless media commentary on the whole Syrian affair.  But maybe David Gregory is one person who hasn’t completely lost his marbles and will see what’s happening now in Syria for what it is- as Russian backed aggression against Syria’s own subjects- - and in general an eventual threat to other nations in the region.  There is Israel, but also virtually all of the Suni nations- - notably Turkey, have condemned this sham of a UN resolution as a farce and a joke, and worst of all, merely a delaying tactic.

The Chris Matthews show has been operating a little rudder-less lately.  Putin is really a good guy and is under “pressure” to keep Assad in line, and all of that.  No, if the President had been a whole lot more proactive with Syria, we would not even be facing the problems we are now.  If President Obama had bombed Syria, the whole Putin thing now would not even be a problem, and I assure you, for President Obama, Putin is “a problem”.   Putin has been in power since the end of 1999 so he’s coming up on the conclusion of his fourteenth year.  They changed the law so he could be re “elected” for a third time, as if anybody took those elections seriously.  Of course Pastor Don lied flat out to me when he claimed he wasn’t breaking church law by even running for the job of full time Pastor.  (I’ll explain off camera)  But then there was the matter of Mitch Mc Connell being “promaried” from the right.  And this lady Sec of State is beating Mc Conell in the statewide polls- - and also this Las Vegas Democratic king maker is throwing money to the democratic candidate.  She actually is not “anti coal” but this is the lie that the Republicans are hoping to win the election with, even though they are behind.  Then we have an older democrat facing off with a younger republican in Virginia - - and the democrat is leading in that poll, too.  Meanwhile the topic was raised that Liberals believe in tollerence and open debate with opponents.  Liberals will watch the Mc Laughlin group- - but Republicans will not listen to Stephanie Miller.  (Even though she was raised in a republican household, which makes my point)  So conservatives want to secede (because of their innate separatist nature)  either counties- or in the case of Texas, a whole state, as Rich Perry said in 2009.  He said that “When Texas joined the union in 1836, it was with the explicit agreement that we could leave any time we wanted to”.  I think the Civil War had something to say about that.  So now the western rural counties of Maryland want to secede and join West Virginia, where they’ll feel more at home.  And Suskyu county along the Oregon border in California- - wants to leave California and join Oregon.  Four counties in northeast Colorado (presumably the ones closest to Cheyanne) want to leave Colorado because that state is now too liberal.  They past gun background checks- - so the NRA is now funneling a whole lot of money in to defeat any pro gun control democrat.  I watched all of Friday’s show, and the first long segment of Thursday’s program.

I slept right through last night and got up at seven minutes to six.  I had KNX radio on.  KTLK has that jamming interference that only occurs on that station and nowhere else on the AM dial.  We had oatmeal.  I am out of creamer and was hoping to swipe a few creamers but didn’t.  There was a protracted wait that was becoming absurd, for the rest.  Finally we got a fried egg and a piece of toast.  Dr. Levy is always boistres when he arrives.  You heard right.  The one day we were SURE he wouldn’t be here, is when he was.  Ned seemed to take a dislike to his - - almost pretentious nature.  I went to the store to buy cigarettes.  And I had my own religious duties to perform, worship at the church of the nicotine plant.  Attendance was sharply down from last week.  Joe was talking about his Messianic Jews stuff.   Well you know, don’t you that the one Rolling Stones song with the word “Messiah” in it- is called Monkey Man.  Monkey messiah are entertaining and less threatening than the human variety.   Dr. Levy deliberately turned my words around 180 degrees and picked a fight with me before I could even complete the first sentence.  He gets up and comes over and wags his finger at me.  I had to explain that I was actually going to side with him.  Isaiah 53 is about a martyr for an issue, because the subject of Isaiah 53 was willing to put himself out there and protest- - like Martin Luther king- - so in a way he vicariously suffered for all of us who agree with him but were too cowardly to get out there ourselves.  I also reminded Joe in particular, that the Jesus was prophesied as “being reckoned as Dead by his own generation.  (Selah)  I then asked Dr. Levy to explain what HE believes about all this Messiah stuff from a Jewish perspective.  Dr. Levy said that “The Messiah will come when we are worthy and have basically solved all of the world’s problems before he gets here”.  I said that “I come from a completely different frame of reference”.  There was talk about religious pluralism and I put in plugs for the I Ching and also Confucious.  I told David I prefer Chinese religion to Indian religion because the later is too ethereal for my tastes.   But then Dr. Levy goes into this thing about “I don’t associate with anybody who isn’t tollerent like me”.  And asked me in particular “You wouldn’t have anything to do with a fundamentalist Baptist, would you?”  That put me in an awkward position, kind of like getting Bob Dylan to disown David Bengurian.  I reminded him that “The Baptist religious frame of reference is almost identical to the frame of reference I was raised under” and explained to Dr. Levy that this is the way the world is.  People aren’t necessarily “prejudiced” just because they were raised in a completely different cultural mind set.  Dr. Levy did have coffee for me- - four packets of Breakfast Blend, which I like.  I told him that would last me a long time, considering I still have a substantial amount of the Master Chef left.   Dr Levy said he was fasting and that it was no fun, and he had to be at his Synagogue at nine thirty so it would be s short meeting.  There was this new lady there whom James Fisher brought, who was talking about her husbands and children and great grand children ect.  I told James- - that Windows 8 is really a big leap for anybody.   Dr. Levy forgot to bring that installment of his “book”.

This is Saturday September 14, 2013.  Now for the most important news.  I am two and 0 on my college football picks today.  I predicted, much against the tide, that UCLA would defeat Nebraska at home, which they did.  I liked UCLA’s uniforms today.  Nebraska abandoned their trademark red-orange.   This game was airing on the TV in the big room.  UCLA got their second wind in the second half- - perhaps inspired by that dead Nicholas guy.  I had an attack of drowsiness this morning and was too lazy just before lunch to go back to the room, so just plopped down on the black couch and watched the game.   The others at the table saw that I seemed - - drowsy.  We had a bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwich for lunch.  I had almost two helpings of lima bean soup - - since Paul gave me one.  John Metz, who is sitting at that table now abandoned his plate- - and I just took the potato chips because for some reason that was not a BLT sandwich on his plate.  We had a banana for desert.   Melinda Lee and Leo Le Port suffered from the same complaints.  What I heard from both was more in the nature of an information rerun (which is a bit unusual, actually) and also both shows were hopelessly drowning in commercial breaks.  KNX has traffic breaks on all the odd numbers – or every ten minutes, which means the show is almost half traffic.  Melinda and Leo both do their own commercials, which is fine, but then they throw in the other “usual commercials”, too.  I had the Oregon and Tennessee game on in the afternoon.  We just changed the official color to a light blue.  Oregon creamed and pureed Tennessee.   There wasn’t that much time to kill before dinner.  We had a pretty decent hamburger patty with not enough gravy for it and the rice also.  The rice has reverted to its former mushy state.  But we had spinach, which I like.  We had vanilla pudding with fruit in it.  Roxanne and Ned were playing some kind of verbal games with each other.  One of them said “I know, you’re not saying anything because you want to keep out of trouble”.   John Powell arrived late.

All of the paragraphs prior to this one will be (and presumably are now) pasted in reverse order from the order they were written in.  In terms of all that Howard stuff - - we left out the song contributions to the Howard saga from one other rock group which the Powers that advised me - - wanted left out of the mix.  Mal Evans approved the following few hints.  The name of the group is actually slipped into the narrative but it’s done in a “Secret” manner.  And the word “secret” itself, is a Clue.  Let he who hath ears hear.   Here’s the other hint.  In the line “Killer Queen” there is a line in there that goes “dynamite with a laser beam”.  Look for an album cover with laser beams on it.   OK, I’ll narrow it down.  An album with laser beans- - that of all the albums this group has put out- - in my concerted opinion - - has the best sound engineering of any of them.  In my opinion.  The Opening Track of another album of this same group - has a clue we already talked about quite a few months ago in a posting - one of those classics given invaluable exposure on channel forty a few decades back - - also has a key tie-in clue.
