Every Day Sees One More Card

Randy Rhodes had the starteling announcement at the start of Monday’s show that the entire radio station of KTLK was undergoing a format flip to the tea party right.  Therefore Stephanie Miller, “Live and Local” and Randy Rhodes will be replaced in turn by Glen Beck, Rush Limbaugh, and Sean Hannity.  It’s not enough that Los Angeles has three secular conservative stations, not to mention all of the Christian stations, it now needs four right wing stations and no progressive stations, in a blue city in a blue state.  Tell me on what planet that is equitable?  It seems to me absurd economics because the ENTIRE listenership of KTLK will be deserting them come January 2nd.  Before then there will of course be all of the Christmas reruns.  But Randy Rhodes would suggest that you  not take it out on the radio station answering person because “They are only an employee”.  That’s absurd logic.  First of all they aren't your servants.  It's not like they can get back at you like a housekeeper or a waiter or something by sticking it to you in a way you would rather have avoided.  You're most likely never going to interract with these people again.  If enough people make these "employees" feel the heat, maybe they'll think twice about which bozos they choose to be employed and paid by.  Yeah- - these people get PAID to be subjected to this very sort of thing.  If a DA messes up and fails to file charges in a contraversial case- - It's Your Place, to make him feel just as uncomfortable as possible.  Every worker in Every business is ‘Only an Employee”.  All of the people who worked for Adolph Hitler were “only employees” and there’s my first Hitler reference, I lose.  Guess what?  It’s their job to “take the heat”.  That’s why they were hired.  If you still doubt me on this- - then in the afterlife these "victims" can just take it up with their former Employees and seek karmic equity that way.  But Randy is so darned stoic about the whole thing it blows my mind.  She says "Well, maybe I'll take one phone call on this and just move on".  What's she afraid of?  She's already been kicked off.  Don't expect any meracle "changes of heart" can be achieved by "making nice" now.  Sure you can get shows on line, but it’s the symbolic loss of any over the air outlet that will have Rush Limbaugh crowing like a rooster come January 2nd.   "On the left coast the last Progressive station in Los Angeles has just been conquered by the EIB network", and things of that nature.  If I read the tea leaves correctly, David Cruise just might get to stay.

And now it’s time for all the hot news of - - yesterday, but now amounts to just leftovers.  Sheriff Baca is in trouble with the FBI because the FBI has been investigating the way Baca runs the Prison system in particular as to the isolation and torturing of inmates.  On e guy was an FBI informant on the inside.   They said fourteen men were charged in all including Lieutenants, Sergeants, and Deputies.   San Diego mayor Feldman was sentenced for his torts against women and was given ninety days house arrest.  I have no idea what the proper penalty would be except he put at least one woman in a headlock, which to me seems like battery.  And then we have the case of Angela Despatchia of Bell, who earned a half a million dollars salary in an impoverished small down in southeast LA.   Eye Witness had live coverage of the proceedings in court, which were constantly being interrupted by little glitches like spots on documents not being completely filled in by jurors.  David Cruise believes that Lee Baca himself is going down along with his whole administration.  But I know of no further follow up FBI investigation.  I kind of have the idea that they are pretty much “cards on the table” official at this point.

Stephanie Miller had said this morning that Chris and Jim had talked about the local station format change on Friday and on Monday but I sure don’t remember that.  The big news on Days of our Lives was that Teresa knew all along that Jack Junior had been in the room with her and that they had started to make love when she said she needed more “tea” to get high, and he would only lightly sip this witches brew concoction.  Jack Junior handled this badly.  I would have just said “Well now we both have a secret and I think it’s in our mutual interest not to say anything to anyone”.  But Jack wouldn’t let sleeping dogs lie but had to start a fight over it- - which to me makes completely no sense.  Meanwhile Samantha is trying desperately not to let Elvis know about her little “escapade” by the river a couple nights ago.  I see no upside in withholding the truth from Elvis, unless there is some factor I haven’t taken into account.

Johnny Wendell was again on KTLK talking about the weather and how warm it is in the mountains of Vermont and it’s wiped out their skiing season because the way Johnny tells it, the Green Mountains can’t even muster the winter weather we now have in our own mountains.  And I guess the “Great White North” does a bang-up ice fishing business this year on Lake Superior, as if that’s anybody’s idea of a fun day.  I turned on the computer before nine and had Stephanie on a Chicago station, just to demonstrate to myself that I could get her program.  I’ve had nothing but problems trying to get Mike Meloy since he went off the air here.  But then it was like old home town week because I listened to “The Ten at ten” on DRIVE radio, and they were doing 1974 and Chicago still used brass in their band at that date.   In “Baby Please Don’t Go” two years later there isn’t a brass instrument to be heard.   Around 2008 I regularly listened to drive radio every morning.  The Stephanie station gave me the option of “Media Player” so I got a light show with my comedy.  Then I had Ed Schultz on the Monterey station on a while but the show was a little too “perfunctory”, I believe is the word.

One of the tricks Alcyonne uses to cause havoc is to "turn words around in the air" so that the person hearing you speak- - - "hears" something quite different than what you said, or at least, that you think you said.  This device is a powerful weapon, or could be, in political propaganda or in "turning the tide of oppinion" for or against a certain political candidate.  Alcyonne after all is "the Axis on which the rest of the Universe revolves".  It's almost not an overstatement to say that Reality itself is "Whatever Alcyonne says it is".  (Selah)  I think both Mark and Sherry have spoken of this "spiritual device of Satan" to destroy relationships.  Mal Evans refers to Sherry as "my partner in crime", and for you trivia buffs it's the only time in my life I have ever signed a marriage document with a woman IN A CHURCH.   There remains the contraversey of Hal Blaine that "utility drummer".  His own guardians maintain that Hal Blaine is an "independent" but representatives of the Leonorans insist that Hal is one of them.  Actually the way I look at it - - Hal Blaine is bigger than any label and if you know his style then you know it, and if you don't you don't.   In terms of duds that are Leonorans- - we have one to add and one to subtract.  "The Classics Four" have been investigated and are NOT Leonorans, however the Sand Pipers are.  You may only know then for their two hits, both of which are thoroughly nausious.  I imagine they probably have their own fan club and everything- - and there are followers who have bought all of their LP albums.  I am sure not one of these.  I've been having significant problems with KABC TV these last two evenings and I'm kind of wondering what the deal is.  Have they cut their power?
