It's A Question of Character

 Character is something conservatives talk a lot about but I have questions about whether they actually believe it.  There are two types of people I have a real problem forgiving- - now or in any foreseable future.  One of course is those who have taken an innocent human life- - cold blooded murderers.  The other one is bullies.  If you want to discredit yourself really quickly in my eyes- - - just start rationalizing away the deeds of an out and out bully who enjoys every minute what he is doing and has absolutely no intension of stopping.  Do you have the psychological maturity, judgement and insight to know when a whole nation, race or people is being bullied by an alien power.  Are you going to leash this "turn the other cheek" crap on them?  Do you make rules for everybody else but exempt yourself from them?   Take Vladimir Putin.   The people of his country starve and yet he puts on the most lavish and expensive Olympics celebration any nation has ever done.  Is your goal the glorification of self- - when all is said and done?  What excuses will Pat Buchannon make this week on the Mc Laughlin group for Vladimir's military invasion of the Crimea region in Ukrane, a sovereign nation.   As far as we know, Jesus Christ never defended a victim of a bully or ever condemned bullying.  Which is strange because he condemned a lot of other things like hypocracy.  And praised the idea of humility- - and all the while like Hillary Clinton on the comodities markets of 1980 he was playing with an "unlimited ammount of capital- - - and for him- - if he's as "unlimited" as he claims to be, then he'll live his whole life never knowing what sacrifice is, never knowing what doubt is, never knowing what submission or deference is.   And yet he condemns others from being plagued in their lives by things that he will never know in fact is immune from.  There is not one time in scripture when Jesus was ever oppressed or personally bullied by another person and Jesus just had to "take it".   Some of you may or may not know who these sentaments are targeted at, but these same sentaments were just as opperative in November of 2011 when the remarks below were first written.  The Satanic Diaries perports to know the mind of Satan.  As if you could just read his book and "have Satan all figured out".  Neil Savedra thinks he's so "figured out who Jesus is" that he can immotate him and nobody will dare to accuse him of violating the second comandment.   We fought the whole Iraq war over that phantom of "weapons of mass destruction".  It was a war against an imaginary enemy with a wholly imaginary victory.  Yet we won't fight wars against real enemies such as Syria, or Iran, or Vladimir Putin but give him a pass.   In 1938 Germany wanted the Sudaten land, and we gave it to him.  He wanted Austria and we gave THAT to him, too.  And we called it "making peace".  "Blessed are the peace makers" and all of that.   So right now let's go back to that posting in "Cosmic Tides" back in November of 2011 and re-exmine some selected lines I pulled out of that posting.  If this guy were not a god but merely "one of the boys" what you think of him?

What good and noble act or acts have you done for your country in the past year. The last three years?

Are you given to throwing tantrums when your message isn’t understood?

When people bow down to you in adulation, do you encourage such conduct?

Do you believe it's a good thing for commanding officers to speak to the troops in confusing, ambiguous terms and "leave it to them to sort it all out later?"

Have you ever been known to harbor a convicted murderer as a secret follower?

If there were a dispute between a countryman and a citizen of the occupying country, would your first instinct be to side with the enemy?

Has any word come out of your mouth that skeptics say remains unproven?

Are you given to making dire prophecies of doom concerning your nation?

If your wife bought pepper spray because she says she’s afraid of being raped in a parking lot, would you chastise her for her “violence stance”?

If you saw one kid bullying another would you tell the kid being abused that if he’s passive then the whole problem will go away. If you saw a husband beating his wife would you give a likewise message to the wife concerning submission?

Do you believe in a god who is so secretive about “rewards” they remain secret even to the so called “recipient”? Do you believe that a basic theme of the Hebrew scripture is that most of what God does is so secret, nobody knows it?

If you saw a young boy being raped in the shower by a college coach, would your first impulse be to “Give the situation over to God and pray about it?”

Do you regularly pray for the well being of government & religious leaders?

If you saw your comrade in arms about to be fired upon by the enemy would your first impulse be to shoot that enemy or “think about it a while”?

Do you believe your own private moral views take precedence over doing what is best for your country?

Would you interrupt an ongoing religious service to make some private moral point even if it could have waited till later. If you were invited to a dinner by a religious leader, would you tell him off and embarrass him right in public?

Do you find that most of the interactions between you and others always end up revolving around how great of a person the other individual thinks you are?

Would you refuse to heal someone if you could do so on the grounds that this illness is there to “teach them a valuable lesson” and not to interfere?

If someone were drilling holes in a boat you were in and the boat began sinking would your first impulse be to rescue a sinking ship filled with convicts that happened by, or would you first look for the guy that’s drilling the holes.
