Stop the House Omnibus Budget Bill Now

There is a last minute on this so called House Omnibus Budget bill.  The democrats are balking because of the contraversial giveaway Banking provisions.  The Republicans are balking because it "Puts off a confrontation with the Obama administration over Immigration till next year".  As such John Boehner's plans to have the bill voted on today have been frustrated.  After the bill clears the House vote it goes over to the Senate where he will have to survive that sixty vote filibuster that put a halt to the XL Canada pipeline - at least until the next congress.  So there is still time to call your Congressman and oppose this budget bill.  This House bill contains every goodie in the book for the tea party right.  Of course they are keeping a pro life stance with no abortion funding.  But I raise the question of "the cigarette doctrine" by Judy and my mother saying that "any money you give him could be turned into cigarette money" so that ANY money given me any time could be said "Well if you spend that money on something else it's money our of your usual alotment you won't be spending on that thing, therefore to spend on cigarettes.  I don't see why the same thing couldn't be done with women's health issue.  What's to stop some bright budget beaurocrat from saying that ANY money spent on women's health could be turned into money spent on abortions?   I guess you women out there better pray nobody thinks of that.  Thom Hartman is talking about "Free Speech Zones" that both Thom Hartman and his pro Cliven Bundy guest agree are wrong.  You can't rope off people and say "you can protest, but only in this tiny little area alloted for you to do it".  There does seem to be added funding for small businesses and facilitating job growth.  But there is no funding for the Export Import bank, which the democrats have been asking for.  They are restricting funding for the clean water act- - showing an anti ecology bias.  There are new restrictions on the Fish and Wildlife comission.  This house bill contains NO FUNDING for the Affordable Care Act.  There is a ban on enforcing "light bulb" replacement requirements.  There are further 'safeguards' on second amendment Rights, and also eliminating restrictions on lead in ammunition.  Here's a big one.  There are express limitations on the closing of Guantanamo Bay or the transfer of prisoners from Guantanamo Bay to other locations.  And there are severe limitations on the IRS saying that ANY organization with a political ax to grind may NOT BE INVESTIGATED, which is completely absurd.  They aren't being investigated for their politics to begin with, but they were being investigated to see if they QUALIFIED as tax exempt in the first place.  There is NO FUNDING for any high speed rail, and the EPA budget is being cut back.  There is a pay freeze for the Vice President and "other high government officials".  There is no funding for "Race to the Top" whatever that is.  But most importantly, and this merits extended comment - - that now your money is FDIC insured.  But now the Banks can gamble with your life savings and if they lose that money the FDIC will still have to anti up.  But what is unfair is that Bank investments that go bad- - are reimbursed.  But if your IRA fund was worth a hundred thousand dollars last year and only eighty thousand this year- - the FDIC will not reemburse you for that.  Nor should they.  Worse than this - - derivitives are immoral on their face the way they are usually constructed.  This is you bet on Loans in your own control - - will Fail.  If Sonny Kiriacus had such assurance with the loan on his night club- - he'd be praying for a default.  It would be like Pete Rose betting against the Cincinatti Reds and throwing a game or two and making lots of money.  The Republicans don't seem to mind this sort of conduct.  "The government is WE and not THEY".   If Government becomes a THEY or a THEM - - - then it is "destructive of the ends" for which it was established, to safeguard Life, Liberty and Property and "to secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and posterity."  (Selah)  I agree with the Sheriff that "I don't want to be compelled by law to buy Health Care from a corrupt Insurance Company".  "Here, here!"  On this he and I are in agreement.  There are laxed rules on the ammount of money you can give to Politicians.  Thom Hartman once said that politicians receive a 760 fold return on their dubious Political donations.

In terms of Dick Chaney and high ranking CIA officials, some suggest that they should be Pardoned by the President.  Thom Hartman thinks we should emulate what they did in South Africa and have full disclosure of their many crimes, but then Pardon everyone involved.  I'll say on the subject of Pardons that I say on Forgiveness.  I believe it's a Sin to "Forgive" an act for which you are not the agrieved party but are only a third party involvement.  In short, just as I lack the authority to "Forgive" Adolph Hitler for his hanious acts, I believe even the President of the United States lacks the authority to Pardon CIA officials for what are basically crimes against humanity or in short "International Crimes".  As such these crimes should be tried in an international court.  Many would say that if you "accept" a pardon you are accepting the Guilt for your act.  I'm not so sure.  Criminals plead "No lo contendare" all the time saying, "Yes, OK I"ll pay some token fine but I don't want this felony conviction on my police record".  Save "police records" for juveniles with a record convicted for hot-wiring Cars, or what have you?

Well I'm coming up on another Birthday but instead of "Birthday" this year, "When I'm 64 would be more appropriate.   Because I am at "that age": when people retire.  I first knew that Nana was 64 when I was aged five- - and age 64 was the youngest I remember her, as she was on the verge of retirement, from being a librarian.  But I can't picture myself as some old codger bouncing grand children on my knees.  Yet my brother will be retiring from the Cadillac place this Christmas eve or whatever.  He and Marie talked it over and decided that it was time.  Of course in other Mal Evans approved family news- - the only Black liniage I'll cop to is that I have a blood related third cousin- - now a small child named Samuel, whom the Federation claims is a reincarnation of Uncle Bob.  He's half black.  And of course the third husband of my first cousin is named Funkhauser, so there has to be something going on there.  And of course Nana referred to my biological Grandfather, Charles Dutton- - as Henry - - back when they were dating during WW I.  Of course his last name used to be Miller so I don't know what happened there.  Speaking of Mormons - I guess they said that Brigham Young had 56 children and the last one, number 55, died back in the fifties.  So the saying held "In Utah everybody married Young".   Of course Martin Owens' mirror image - - Owen Martin, has been in the hospital for over a week now and I don't know what the problem is.

Thom Hartman is still having a conversation with that Sheriff, who agrees that torture is wrong and inexcusable.  These two agree on something else, too.  This economy won't survive all eight years of the Obama administration.  The thing is going to blow up in someone's face at an embarrassing time during the election campaign.  I find myself less and less sure that the stock market advance will hold out for at least another year as I've been predicting.  But if I change my stance from 'Hold' to "Sell", I'll make my decision known plainly to you blog readers, so that there will be no misunderstanding it.  One sign is- if repeatedly the intra-day close routinely is early, rather than later in the day.  Another is if there is heavy volume churning with little change in price.  this is another danger sign.   I'd also say that if the odd lott people are net buyers, this is a sign that stocks are moving into "weak hands".   Another sign would be if "sharp down days" come with increasing frequency- - even if made up in the long run to days of higher prices, still the presence of these "sharp dips" would be troubling.
