Well today in the ongoing soap opera of life, Luis got exicuted through lethal injection. Nobody was inclined to come forward with exculpitory evidence on this one. Sheridan gave Teresa the electric chair after she figured out what levers to push. Later Gwen came along and touched Teresa and she fell stunned or dead to the floor. I guess three people dead is enough for one episode. What's congresses excuse? This congress passed a few minor ethics bills that will be ignored and circumvented, and a needed minimum wage hike. But on the big issues of our day they have surely dropped the ball. Both Thom Hartman and Randi Rhodes were talking about how this Congress gave bush everything he wanted on this government surveilance bill. She points out that this government phone tapping bill the republicans rammed through Congress at the last minute- - was not talked about on the Sunday shows. 41 democrats voted for it in the house and 14 democrats voted for it in the Senate. This phone tapping bill held congress to all hours of the night. They are only required to consult with FISA untill 120 days later. Thom Hartman likens this whole Bush surveilance stuff to a man being arrested for drunk driving and rather than prepare his defence just changes the law to have drunk driving legal. The attorney general Alberto Gosolez is the only one who has to give permission for this new phone surveilance which could be two people from European countries talking to each other but the calls are ran through New York. Also in the bill was absolution from all lawsuits people might file against any corporation like the phone company giving out private information. Also unlike the Presidents edict of several years ago, terrorism need not be suspected. Now the government can spy on you just for the hell of it. You people may think some of my recent blogs are a little dark hued, well the outlook for our nation is dark. You just know that some "incident" is going to occur to silence any democratic candidate with the courage to talk about how the constitutional rights of citizens are being whittled away. Nobody can forsee Al Qaida striking America again but if it happens you know the Republicans will be going "You see? That's why we shouldn't elect democrats next year". The Republicans, all nine or ten of them, didn't talk at all about this bill on Sunday in a ninety minute debate on ABC I watched. Ron Paul was the only candidate who was both against the Iraq War and also against all this governmental secrecy.
Rudolph Giuliani won the personality contest of the Republican candidates. He showed the most whit and carisma. I liked the position of several of the candidates on issues such as abortion. You know people are getting smarter. They don't let their kids have a computer in their bedroom. As Montell Williams puts it "As you get older brain cells in your head get morphed and you don't remember what it was like to be a teenager- - and even some of the older teens say they'll be tougher on their own children than their parents were on them. This is certainly the case with Lisa Marie Preslie. She was a spoiled, self indulgent whore, and yet I get the idea she's raising her own daughter in a guilded cage, screen all her boyfriends. I say all this because it shows at least people think of their kids when it comes to morals. And yet abortion laws still see kids as these sluts they were twenty-five years ago. If I were a parent I'd be a little pissed that the government was not backing up my own rules for my kid's conduct with the opposite sex. Sometimes the opposit phenominum occurs. The older kid has a really tough time of it with his parents' rules and the younger siblings get away with murder. But the thing we have to remember is that though all parents have varying standards, few would regard murder as a civil right- - meaning abortion. I'm against abortions of both the physical and the spiritual kind. I know one church pastor who seems to enjoy "performing abortions" - spiritual abortions. Of course Christians are also guilty of guilt projection, one of the oldest psychological vices in the book. They think they can cure their OWN burried feelings of guilt by making someone else feel guilty. I remember clearly what was like being a teenager. I didn't have any of my brain calls morphed. I guess some would say that if this is so I must suffer from "arrested development".

Ton Delay is guilty of insider traiding- - - and intra-day trading and giving inside information on stocks to his buddies. He wasn't even charged with this but with money laundering. Apparently the insider traider stuff was legal in Texas. I thought inside trading was illegal everywhere. Larry Elder once said he didn't think trading with inside information should be a crime. I think it's a question of degree, like steroids. If you just "happened to learn something" if it's false you're screwed and can't sue the person who lied to you. If it turns out to be true, then you're guilty of a crime- - conspiracy to defraud and a whole lot of stuff. When it comes to steroids I don't think it's cheating if "everybody does it" and it's generally expected. At one time people used to shoot rabbits in their back yard. At one time "everybody" used to smoke. Back in the thirties "everybody" was joining the Communists and going out to fight Franco in the Spanish civil war. Later as the times changed and Joe Mc Carthy arose on the scene these same people were in big trouble. Now the people who took or were roomered to have taken steroids are in big trouble. But this steroids saga was raised to opperatic heights today on the Larry Elder show. He spent the whole hour lambasting Barry Bonds for breaking Hank Arron's home run record. Poor Hank Arron. He's just going to sulk and not be a good sport about it and congradulate Barry. Larry then read something about Black athletes being full of themselves but the time comes when they see reality and they realize sadly that "They're just another nigger". I'm not sure what that quote was supposed to prove but you know Larry enjoyed saying it. Race baiting is his favorite past time. I'm sure even us Dodger fans wish Barry Bonds all the best. Let's not turn him into O J Simpson, like Larry Elder wanted to do today. Barry Bonds isn't taking steroids now, so all you detractors can just shut up.
A week or so ago I downloaded 41 pages of material from the Michael Moore website for Ferenheit 911. It's interesting material I couldn't read all of at one sitting. All Americans should read these pages to remind ourselves why we have such contempt for President Bush. The leading Democrats both spoke at a liberal dominated Bloggers convention over the weekend. My guess is what when Hillary saw O Bama doing it she had to do her "Me, too" thing, not wanting to be left out of a good thing. My only advice to the bloggers is to keep going the way you are and if anything, step up the pressure on government.
Thom Hartman has suggested that the way to rebuild our infra structure is to raise income taxes back up to seventy percent where they were from the days of Kennedy right through to the early 'eighties. Then they were cut to fifty under Reagan and then 28%. Even if they were hiked back up to fifty we could raise a lot of money. We could reinvigerate our space program, have environmental and polution measures, such as alternative energy production and increasing car milage, and rebuild all of our bridges and levys so that no more of them collapse. Besides this we should build bullet trains like they have in Japan that travel over two hundred miles per hour. This would reduce congestion at our airports and probably save a lot of business travelers valuable time. I imagine they won't institute the same securety measures in train stations that they have at airports, at least right away. I would imagine that trains use a lot less fuel than Boeing 767's. Another bi-product of high income taxes is that it might keep C E O salaries down from their current astronomical figures. After all, if they get paid more it will only go to the government. That's part of government's job to provide incentives for positive behavior. And remember, the National deficit is a whole lot higher than they are telling us.
P S I predict Teresa really is dead. Do you know how I can be so sure? Because the guilty are never caught on that show like they aren't in the Catholic church. If Teresa were still alive she would be able to directly finger the person who did her in, and we can't have that.
