Well that one guy in the interview uses the F--- word a lot and comes on a
little strong, but it was still a good speech. This posting is an adaptation of a letter I just wrote my brother, Al, in response to some dramitization he sent me about this guy being asked what was great about America. He rattles off all the usual statistics about us being number twenty in math and science and only third in household income and down the list in infant mortality and health care and so many other things. The only areas where we lead is in those who believe in angels or the seven day Creation of the world. The only problem now is if you
talk down America you'll sound like the Tea Party, which oddly and ironically,
is one of the most anti American organizations on the face of the earth. What the tea party stands for at their core is the patently un American concept of international corporate money not respecting international bounderies, and also the idea of a moneyed Heiristocracy of ever greater wealth in fewer and fewer hands. Now there are seventeen of they and this year if they are successful, America as we know it will cease to exist. They
call our President the most disparaging names and show disrespect for our
President at every turn. The President isn't even allowed media time to address congress on an important issue without running it by Rush Limbaugh first. Rush Limbaugh said on his show the other day "Obama hates America and I state this unequivacally". And soon every other tea party spokesman including Sean Hannity echoed these sentaments in interviews. As to this matter of the President talking about "No man is an island" this radio talk show host from New Hampshire today regards this as "unacceptable" saying "He has no idea what America is all about". He then goes on to talk about taking a business risk and making money. But as others have said before me, Romney is extremely risk adverse. The minute Bain Capital figured out they could make more money by sinking corporations rather than saving them, that's just what they did. And Romney cries crockadile tears for the Blacks and
the unemployed, all the while- - looting all of those corporations he was
supposed to be helping at Bain capital. What struck me about Romney is that he
is making it an issue that somehow "Greed is good' and should override every
other qualification for President. He'll say 'I know how to make money for the
share holders at Bain Capitol". So he makes money for - - HIMSELF! This is his
sole qualification. The only issue he IS talking about now is the economy.
He's been boxed in on all the other issues. He gets tied up in knotts talking
about Health Care and flip flops like a mexican jumping bean. He is a little
confused on the gay marriage issue. He remains silent on the Dream Act on
immigration - - even though he said in the debates he would veto the act if he
were President. He can't say that now. We know he doesn't have "Evangelical"
credentials with his mormonism. He has no foreign policy experiance (and
President Obama has nothing but success in this area). So Romney clings to the
fig leaf of the economy and unemployment, pretending to feel sympathy he has a
history of showing contempt for, and I'd use that "I'd like Firing people" in
every add. And now Republicans and other conservatives are wondering just what's with Romney for failure to release his taxes for a dozen years. Given the absence of information- - people's imaginations have a tendancy to run away with them, and this is one FEAR that works in the President's favor.
But just look at it this way. If you're a house painted have you
done such a great thing if to "maximize your own profit" you use a cheaper grade
of paint than you said you would, or cut corners and don't hit all the knooks
and cranies and take a lot less time than you know the job merits. Do you then
brag how you swindled your customer? Only Romney calls that a good thing,
invoking the doctrine of Gordon Gecko of "I wrecked your father's company
because it was Wreckable!" almost screaming it, as though Buddy Fox were dense
in not knowing that. I have often said about one thing that has galled me over the years about Christians of the Calvary Chapel perswasion is that they don't brag about what They have done for God- - or their Fellow Man, but rather brag about the "Wealth" that God has bestowed upon them. And I know in this area I'm a screwed duck. I'll never be able to compete. As they say in the alcoholic pledge "I have controle over certain things- - but other things, that I don't have ANY control over - - I shouldn't bother about. I am thus too "spiritually poor" to ever really make it as a Calvary Chapel Christian. (Selah)
We have moved the political goal posts so far afield, you
can't call this campaign even kosher any more. So many low blows have already
been delivered. When you have debates more resembling one of these TV shows
like Jerry Springer or Wally George - - rather than a debate on the future of
our country- - - - . The idea of science itself or objective facts is an alien concept to these tea party people. Romney doesn't care about "buy American" and twice lately
a representative on Meet the Press was asked about this "Buy American" bit, and the Romney spoksmen refused
to answer either question, either about the Olympic uniforms, or "Does your boss
stand by the outsoursing stuff Bain Capital did? He won't answer about the
dream act, and he won't answer why he won't release his Income Tax statements,
or frankly the Minutes to Bain Capital for those critical years of board
meetings. And one thing nobody asked was "If Mitt Romney wasn't in charge- - who WAS?? Give us names
and phone numbers and we can call them up and ask them what they did and didn't
do. Romney can't do that. These "other people" are figments of his imagination
just like those "stock holders" are an artificial Romney creation. This guy is
such a phoney he'd make a store manicken blush! And like I say I don't even know how long this political farce that is the 2012 Presidential campaign can go on.
I spoke of "disassociating with one's past". I've had second thoughts about that word "disassociation". Perhaps "abandoning" or "walking away from" would have been better choices. Because "disassociation" conotates a scitzophrenic who has multi personalities- - - or displaced "affect" or feelings. I once remarked Pete Richards "Pastor Mark is so GOOD at this "role playing" he does where he gets angry at this imaginary opponet in his sermons. And Pete Richards responded "That's because that phantom he invents is really his OWN repressed feelings. One evangelist warned that some Born Again experiances are just "the same guy doing the same Business on the other side of the street". I see traits of this in Pete Richards, if you want to know the truth. So many Bosc mates of mine seem to be dogged by some past that's like that "shadow comes creeping in your room" just like the Dylan song. That's one great song on the Whitmark tapes called "Tell me what- you're gona do". Like when you can't play God no more" and the like. Someone who has had a true "transformation" is not Afraid of his past- - - it's just irrelivent to him; that's all. There no "emotional trigger words" that are ready to "set him off" at a moments notice like post traumatic stress sidrone or something. There is no "repression" or "supression" going on. Ron Hubbard talked about "Supressive individuals". I like the phrase because I think a lot of Jesus people are Supressive individuals. They are control freaks because deep down "where the sun don't shine" they themselves feel OUT of control of their Own Souls. (Selah) Sometimes I wonder about people like Barry Mc Guire who used to be a leftie, but then turned Born Again. I just can't personally fathom Barry Mc Guire as a card carrying tea totelling member of the tea party set. Larry Norman one might say 'mercifully was taken by the Lord" before he ever had to face this awful moral choice in his own life. Some have said that Jesus and Elvis have this in common, that "I like Them- - - but it's just their fan clubs that have me climbing the walls". And so Mal Evans made it clear to me today that he is not at war with Scientology as a belief system, but the Church of Scientology is something virtually wholly removed from the Belief System that constitutes Scientology. By the way- - ADD Eric Cantor's name to that list of "Anathema people" who are regarded by the Federation as Unredeemable. I hope his political carrier goes down in flames this November. "Tis a consumation devoutly to be wished". I'm glad the President at last has found a voice and that he's good some good Ads out now. Keep it up. And pray it isn't Too Late.
